All Within My Hands' seventh annual Month Of Giving is up and running. "This year, our Foundation is going back to basics and drilling down on what is at the core of its mission," say very longtime HardRadio friends METALLICA. "Throughout this month, AWMH will explore how each pillar of the mission—funding workforce education, fighting hunger, and supporting critical local services—works individually and, finally, how they work together to create sustainable communities." A MOTORHEAD-THEMED BAR and shop opened its doors for the first time last week in the town where frontman "Lemmy" Kilmister was born. The store, set up by the IFK Legacy group in Market Place, Burslem, aims to be a centre for those who make the journey to see the nearby Lemmy statue and raise funds to turn the Queens Theatre into the Kilmister Halls. In the year since the statue was unveiled, fans have travelled from all over the world to the Staffordshire town to see it. Sculptor of the statue Andy Edwards said he was "delighted" by the bar opening and said: "most of all I feel at home in this environment of people and I hope that everyone feels the same."
Rolling Stone has revealed their list of THE 100 GREATEST GUITAR SOLOS OF ALL TIME. An introduction: 'All hail the guitar solo — one of the most indestructibly great art forms in all of modern music. There's nothing quite like the thrill of a glorious six-string explosion — a long, twisted, never-ending saga that stretches from "Free Bird" to "Purple Rain," from "Johnny B. Goode" to "Eruption." Some classic solos come from virtuoso shredders; others are just a blast of awesomely sleazy licks. But they've all burned their way into our brains.' Find the complete list at RollingStone.com.
