Author Daniel Bukszpan has previously written books on Iron Maiden, Rush, and Ozzy Osbourne - has shared the following update via social media: "Moments ago, I submitted final tweaks to my forthcoming book, HEAVY METAL'S BIG FOUR which tells the story of Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer. I have wanted to write this book since I was 18. It will be published through Motorbooks-Quarto on November 10, 2026, and will be my fifth book for them in four years. I have been unusually lucky to work with one publisher consistently, especially one that gives me such a huge amount of creative freedom and lets me be myself." Heavy Metal's Big Four delivers a year-by-year chronicle of how these four titans defined, then dominated thrash metal, beginning with the formations of Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer in 1981.
