BUT - the player is the one who creates the tone, it's in the fingers, not in the humbuckers. I think that Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan could make Strat sound amazing. |

I'm not kidding, al. For the entire period in which I religiously read guitar magazines (late 80's to about 1994), that's what everybody called Clapton's tone, his "woman tone", and nobody ever explained why it's called that. Clapton may have picked the name himself. Kinda like Eddie Van Halen's "brown sound", which I don't even [i]want[/i] to hear an explanation for. |
