Armored Saint, Spiritual Beggars, Black Label Society, 90's Pantera, Primal Fear, and Down. I see alot of talk here about Sentenced, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and Dark Tranquility. Would I dig those bands?? Any other reccomendations? I don't care for keyboards, and clean or dirty vocals are fine as long as the riffs and mix are clean.

Metalfilm....I saw Soundtrack of Our Lives on Letterman last night and I didn't think they were too shabby at all. Did you happen to catch them, and if so would you say that the song they played is indicative of their general sound?

I'd wager that you'd go apeshit about all four of the bands you mentioned. Also, check out the following bands which are musically similar to your own picks:

Spiritual Beggars: The Quill, The Mushroom River Band, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Hermano, many others

Pantera: Pissing Razors, Hatebreed

Primal Fear: Wolf, Lost Horizon, Pharaoh, many others

I don't watch TV apart from a few select shows on cable, but if you're referring to a relatively laid-back but rocking, keyboard-and-boogie-oriented jam, yep, most of their songs sound that way. They're not metal, per se, but they amply fill the gap which a band like The Black Crowes left. I saw them about a year ago at a Swedish music showcase at CBGBs and it was one of the most refreshingly organic performances I'd seen in a long time.

Yeah, they seemed to be along with the Buck Cherry, New American Shame type thing. Or Black Crowes, like you said. I thought they were pretty good. My only disappointment was no guitar solo in the song.

Then I saw The Donnas on Conan that same night, and the chick DID try to play a guitar solo, and I really wished she didn't.

Definately check out The Haunted if you like 90's Pantera.
